About
- Santa Cruz native Dillon Baiocchi graduated from the New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music in May 2012. The alto saxophonist has studied with Lee Konitz, Dave Douglas, Myron Walden, Yosvany Terry, Dave Glasser, Kirk Nurock and Vincent Herring. Baiocchi was honored to receive the Downbeat Student Music Award for his original composition “Mountain Road” in April 2012. His current group, the Dillon Baiocchi Band, has toured California several times and has performed regularly in New York City over the past two years. In addition to his own band, Baiocchi can be heard playing with the Ben Murphy Orchestra and the Franky Rousseau Large Band, which just completed a tour of Canada.
